Right afterwards

Dermaskin/Second Skin

Leave the foil on the tattoo for a maximum of 72 hours, after which the foil is carefully peeled off. If necessary, remove the foil in the shower, loosening the top so that water can run off and soften the skin and adhesive.

A collection of excess ink, plasma and blood often forms under the foil. This is completely natural and is called an Ink Sack, it helps you heal faster. Should any of the excess run out from under the foil, remove the foil immediately - if anything can get out, bacteria can also get in.

(If you experience severe redness, itching or discomfort, remove the foil immediately)

Plastic
Leave the plastic on the tattoo for 3-4 hours, then remove the plastic.

After the second skin/dermaskin or plastic has been removed

Remember to have freshly washed hands when you touch your new tattoo.

Take a clean cloth with cold water and possibly soap ( MUST be intended for tattoos or Neutral soap - definitely not Alm., brown soap or intimate soap).

Gently pat your tattoo free of blood and ink - let it air dry for 5-10 minutes .

Lubricate your tattoo with a thin layer of panthenol or tattoo ointment 2-3 times a day for 10-14 days.

Personally, I recommend the Panthenol ointment from Rema1000.

All the fun things we can't do for a while

Avoid:

• Dirt and dust in your new tattoo (especially in the first 2-3 days)

• To dry out your new tattoo.

• Sun for at least 3 weeks.

• Bathtub, swimming, seawater or sauna for at least 3 weeks.

• Picking, scratching, or otherwise traumatizing your new tattoo.

Infection

It's rare to get an infection from a tattoo - but it can happen. Your new tattoo is technically an open wound and should be treated with care.

It is virtually impossible to assess what may have contributed to the infection in a tattoo and it is important to treat it as soon as possible.

If you suspect infection, contact Langelands Tattoo immediately with pictures so that it can be assessed when a possible infection should have occurred.

If it is judged that it looks like an infection or you cannot wait any longer for an answer, you should contact your doctor.

Touch Up

No skin is the same to work with or heals the same, which means that a touch-up may be needed.

If you have followed the instructions for aftercare, you are entitled to a free touch up at Langelands Tattoo.

After about a month you can see if a touch up is necessary and Langelands Tattoo must be contacted within 2 months to arrange a time for a touch up if it is to be free.

In the rare case of infection in the tattoo, the situation is assessed individually as to whether the infection occurred more than 3-5 days after the tattoo was made. Pictures must be sent as soon as the infection occurs.
